What is the Erie Family Alliance?

The Erie Family Alliance, formerly known as the Family Caregiver Alliance (FCA), was established in December of 2017 with the support of the System of Care Initiative.  The Erie Family Alliance, now under the direction of the Erie Family Center, serves as caregiver representatives from Erie County who advocate for children who have mental health diagnoses or behavioral or emotional challenges, and their families at local and state levels.

Supporting local
trauma efforts

This year Erie Family Alliance members participated in the 6th Annual Trauma Informed and Resilient Communities Conference at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Alliance members informed the audience on the impacts of trauma on families through a panel discussion paired with a presentation on ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences). This year's conference theme was  "Relationships: The Power to Heal."

Our Mission is to Educate, Empower and Inform caregivers of children with mental health, behavioral or emotional challenges.

Erie Family Alliance Events & Meetings

1st & 3rd Wednesdays of every month | Parent Network Committee Meetings

Families have unique insight and valuable suggestions. Your life experience as a caregiver of a child who experiences behavioral challenges or mental health issues can be used to inform services and supports. Together a strong family voice, effective advocacy, and adequate professional development opportunities can create ideas and actions that will better inform how other children and families seek and receive care. Join us at our next meeting! No registration required and all are welcome.
